Abstract

The effect of low temperature, photoperiod and GA©ý treatments on growth and flowering of Sedum rotundifolium were investigated to establish year round flowering system. The transferring date to the growth chamber and duration of artificial chilling treatment at 3¡É showed little effect on regrowth and flowering of plants which entered in dormancy after withering of aerial part on account of natural cold weather. However, photoperiod greatly affected the growth and flowering of Sedum rotundifolium. Regardless of cold treatments, the plants under 16 hour long day rapidly resumed the growth of dormant winter crown arid reached visible inflorescence stage. Whereas, under the 10 hour short day, plants were remained rosetted and compressed form having Rio visible inflorescence. GA©ý applied plants shooted rapidly but never reached visible inflorescence stage.
